Espresso Machines Come In All Shapes And Sizes!

Today Espresso machines fall into three basic categories: Manual, Semi Automatic and Super Automatic. But how will YOU know which one’s right for you? First, decide how much control you want over the entire brewing process. Use the detailed descriptions below to help guide you. Have fun and happy learning!

Manuals:

Nothing in a manual machine is electrical except the heating unit. You create the pressure needed to brew the coffee by a piston that is controlled by hand. Pull it up to bring the water to the coffee, & down to create the pressure that forces the water through the coffee for brewing.

 Semi-Automatics:

These have a filter that you fill and lock into place yourself. They can take both ground coffee or beans. The pressure required to brew is controlled via an electrical switch to the pump.

 Super Automatic:

For the true coffee lover these are a one-stop wonder that will do everything for you – It grinds, it tamps, it pre-infuses and then brews  and even disposes of the used grinds for you.  Sorry, it does NOT do dishes. All have built-in grinders and various levels of pre-programmable features.
