Super Automatics are my favorite coffee machine and their easy maintenance contributes to my love of these fine coffee makers.  Most of these super machines will tell you when maintenance is necessary; you don’t even have to think about it.  This alert means you can’t possibly neglect the machine accidently.  You have invested a substantial amount of money when you purchase any espresso machine so preserving it for many years is easy with automatic reminders and reliable maintenance products.  so, now that your machine is telling you it is due for a cleaning what happens next and how difficult is it going to be?

Rest assured cleaning your machine will be as easy as making an espresso.  Most machines walk you through every step.  In most cases your machine alerts you that it is due for a cleaning but don’t worry, you don’t necessarily have to drop everything immediately to run a cleaning cycle.  Instead, you have a few days to take care of it.  In some cases, if you delay the process for a prolonged period of time, the machine will stop working.  This is a built in safety net to help prevent machine damage caused by neglect.  Not all machines have this safety net, but the high en machines do. Once you see how quick and simple the process is, you will see that it is not necessary to delay cleaning your machine. 

Jura Super Automatics have a shoot in which you drop a Jura Cleaning Tablet down into.  The machine reads the instructions to you and you follow them step by step.  First you insert the Jura Cleaning Tablet, and then you press a button. This button tells the machine to proceed with the cleaning cycle.  The machine starts an on-and-off brew cycle and the tablet is dissolved.  This solution that is created is rinsed through the machine for a few minutes.  You place a receptacle under the coffee spout to catch the cleaning solution.  When the cycle ends, the machine will indicate it. You then discard the solution in the receptacle and press the button again.  Now clear water will run through to rinse away any remaining solution.  Now your machine will tell you it is finished and clean.  It is as easy as that.  Depending on what model you have  these instructions may vary slightly. 

If you own a Bosch, Gaggia, Saeco, or Solis Super Automatic you will want to use the Urnex Cafiza Espresso Machine Cleaning Tablets.  These economical cleaning tablets are used exactly the same way.  Some machines don’t have special shoots for the cleaning tablet so you need to use the bypass dozer instead.  If your machine has no bypass dozer or special shoot then you simply dissolve the tablet and use the solution to manually clean the brew group.  Some machines like Gaggia and Saeco have a removable brew group.  In this case, you simply remove the brew group and rinse it off using the solution.  I have tried rinsing the brew group with plain water, followed by rinsing with the Urnex Cafiza solution.  The Cafiza solution definitely improved the cleaning results by removing grime that plain water had no effect on.  Cafiza also removed the musty odor, the old stale, oily coffee grounds leave behind.  I am more than thrilled with the results of these Cafiza Cleaning Tablets.  I also recommend them for cleaning the drip tray, dredge box, and any part that needs to be cleansed of caked, oily, smelly, grimy coffee residue.  

I hope I have convinced you of how easy and convenient cleaning your Super Automatic Machine can be when using Jura cleaning tablets or Cafiza cleaning tablets.  My goal is to encourage you to maintain your Super Automatic Espresso machine properly so you may enjoy it for years to come.   Here are a few tips to ensure success. Remember to follow the maintenance procedures required by the manufacturer.  Purchase cleaning supplies in large quantities to save money on product and shipping. Purchasing larger quantities means you will have cleaning supplies on hand and will not have to hold off on maintenance while you wait for your product to arrive.  Cleaning your espresso machine is quick and easy so don’t procrastinate.  When you order supplies look for suppliers that have product in stock and ship via three day priority.  Getting your supplies quickly will enable you to clean your machine sooner and prevent costly repairs.
